I believe the walnuts took the place of a lot of bad/junk foods I was eating.

That's why nuts are a good snack item. I have found since I got into reading about supplements and diet that I have never seen a field with so much difference of opinion.

I think the major reason is that we react differently to foods and supplements. And opinions get strong.

I was in a car Sunday with a friend and his Lady, who was a Pilate's Instructor from San Francisco. Diet came up and when I told her I started off with Oatmeal, she asked me how I cooked it. When I mentioned "microwave," she came back, "oh, no, that kills the nutrients," and we went from there.

If I ever wrote a book about what I think now on diet, I would start it with the disclamer, "you can find someone who disagrees with everything I say."
