OFF TOPIC RE: drunk and ugly

Larry,

I don't want to start a dictionary of misattributions, but this old chestnut is better in the version where the drunk accosts Mrs. Roosevelt. In both versions, aside from the highly unlikely rudeness of both Sir Winston and Mrs. Roosevelt, there is the problem of who would report the story. I can't imagine that either of these famous people admitting making these insulting remarks, and the unnamed lady and man would hardly have bragged about their own rudeness.

There are several treasuries of insults and invective available, and perhaps SI might well provide them to its members as membership premiums. The vituperation has become a little too ladylike for my taste.
