>>>>>>>>>Rick , You know and I know and the rest of us know >>>>>>>>>that you care as much about R Stewart's 'demise' >>>>>>>>>as you did your 'friend's' suicide,
Jim,
Ron has suffered no 'demise' and to compare his being drummed into silence on one internet thread with any man's suicide is hardly a comparison that should make you proud if you give it a little more reflection.
>>>>>which you jokingly taunted our esteemed 'White Knight' about.
Because the comparison is so tragically trite, you misperceive both the fact that I was "jokingly" or "taunted" anyone. I was sincere in what I said about stress being potentially lethal. The vehement, and vicious overreaction, exhibited in the post directed to Ron was in that perspective frightening. That "way out" (stress) for Gary was sincerely offered. Gary rejected it. Upon that rejection I can only surmise that the manifest maliciousness was intentional and would continue as indeed it has.(i.e. the ant posts etc.)
>>>>>SO this is your pet project and I'm sure that his same friends >>>>>are reading this board, absorbed by the 'study'you're conducting.
To the extent that a man was bullied off of a communication channel because because of unfairness is a "pet project" that is worthy. Ron did not feel that he could withstand and compete against the verbal barrage of assaults leveled at him by one specifically trained and educated at two levels of postgraduate education and 25 years of experience above Ron, in the use of words as weapons, I agree. That is not a disparagement of Ron but rather a recognition that his training, skill, even propensity to compete in that arena are no match against his antagonist.. Even less in terms of the reasonableness and appropriateness.
Jim, I won't draw on either my "friends" or Ron's "friends" for an example. Lets use pugs, someone who has not been particularly friendly towards me. I still do not believe that I would ever witness pugs as a participant in one of the boxing matches at his gym, climbing out of the ring and beating the hell out of some spectator, even one who was cheering for pugs opponent. If I did witness such a thing, I would be just as shocked, surprised, and all of the other words I have used to describe the inappropriateness and professional unseemliness of the situation on this thread.
Stop and think about this Jim, Ron's participation on this thread is just about as limited as Al Big or what ever his name is. Al from time to time posts some taunt at me sometimes some four letter word etc. I have never reacted by constructing a diatribe of attack going through half the alphabet to describe how Al and his parents are everything but nice people devoid of all social graces, and how that as a result of such an attack he was personally indebted to me. Come on.
>>>To 'Ricks' 'friends', think hard about his hand in that tragedy. Think very hard.<<<
Jim, of all the people on this thread Ron has shown a character far above any of us here. Specifically he has balanced his steadfast loyalty and refusal to even consider doing anything to hurt a man with whom he went to school and has known for a quarter of a century with his likewise deeply held conviction that even a stranger should be allowed to speak his piece free of censorship, attempts to banish me from the thread and name calling tirades even when those actions are committed by his friend. He is an example of what we all hope we teach our sons and daughters. If you go out with friends and they start breaking car windows at least have enough sense that if you won't call the police on them yourself that you will at least get out of the car with them and walk home.
So to the extent that Ron is not in anything other than a self imposed exile akin to the one Steve Turner imposed upon himself, and then broke, I would suggest that if Ron feels that I caused his treatment lets let him tell us what he thinks. Absent that I will rely upon the character I described that I have observed in Ron and remain confident that he does not feel that I am responsible for Gary's outburst.
As a matter of fact, Jim, my involvement was totally after the fact. What I accomplished by suggesting the manner in which Ron might show the appreciation demanded by Gary, was to at least in part divert Gary's vitriolic attacks from Ron to me. |
