(NASDAQ:GEMS) announced today that it signed a $16.2 million contract for a province-wide high speed paging network with the Posts and Telecommunications Authority of China's Heilongjiang province. This contract was formally signed today in Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang province, and further expands Heilongjiang's large Glenayre supplied paging network. Glenayre will install its advanced paging and messaging infrastructure, including multiple GL3000 Wireless Messaging Switches, over 500 VHF high speed transmitters equipped with GL-C2000 controllers, as well as advanced networking and management equipment. Installation of this phase will begin in November. "This contract further demonstrates Glenayre's high speed paging infrastructure leadership in China, and the Heilongjiang contract represents the largest provincial order received to date," said Lee Ellison, Glenayre's senior vice president of global operations.
