As a taxpayer I'm ready and willing to help -- but only when the UAW agrees to take serious cuts from the $150K/year labor cost they have saddled the auto industry with.

I feel the same way. There was another article, saying that GOP asked that wages of Big 3 be brought in line with the transplants (still very generous $40s per hour including benefits) but UAW refused.


Tell the truth joe. The issue wasn't whether the union would agree to bring their wages into parity with the non union workers. It was when.....apparently, the GOP senators from Toyota, Nissan, and Hyundai would not budge on the date.
