MEGA SELL-OFF OVERSEAS - Hi Bonnie,
Usually I check Globex first thing in the morning... S&P DOWN 21 POINTS. WHOOPS... WHAT THE HAY IS HAPPENING???????
Then I flip over to Bloomberg (both these sites given by others on this thread... that's why I say I get more than I give here on BK). THE ASIAN MARKETS HAVE SOLD OFF 10-14%!!!! Interest rate increase.!
Well, Blaster, hope you didn't sell those puts too soon!!!
Good news/bad news..... what I am seeing is this: my Barron's indicators are probably ok as long as there isn't some major (unpredictable) event occurring. (MSFT blew my forecast on Tuesday, for example) And they tend to go wonky around EXPIRY (ok Bill, now you have let yourself off the hook for almost 50% of your forecasts... what's the GOOD NEWS????) The good news is that the probabilities as modified by my formula seem to provide for those unpredictable events that occur WITHIN the week covered by the Barron's forecast. WHAT THAT MEANS is the blended (merged) forecast, while not as accurate as either forecast, whichever applies, will be a better forecast than the Barron's forecast alone. AND, we can probably know which forecast to rely upon based on early morning Globex and overseas trading.
Wow.
So what does THAT mean... HERE GOES BILL... JUST LIKE THE BLASTER!!!
WE COULD HAVE UP TO A 300 POINT SELL-OFF TODAY!!!!!!!!! ====================================================
So Russell, looks like you DID get out of your shorts too soon!
As for me, I am standing aside to wait for the fall-out. The reason for this stance is that I don't know whether what we have here is a one-day affair or an all out crisis.
Regards, and be careful,
Bill
