12/12/08 update
Bad news be damned, stocks actually held up fairly well for the week. At Friday's close, the Nasdaq Composite Index was down 41.91-% YTD (vs. -43.09% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Biotech Index was down -17.79% YTD (vs. down -18.47% YTD a week ago). And, thanks in part to portfolio favorite VPHM, the Contest median had an even better week than the broad averages, closing down -33.44% YTD (vs. down -40.18% YTD a week ago).
With just one week to go in the Contest, only a single portfolio was in the black YTD and 6 of the 33 are beating the NBI. Having taken over first place last week, ROBERT's portfolio's lead over second place GENE's portfolio widened. ROBERT's portfolio is now up 8.16% YTD and GENE's portfolio is down -2.74% YTD.
Have a great weekend folks!
