I don't think energy independence is progressive by the dictionary definition. Hunkering down to take care of one's own is a very old idea.

Okay, why don't you list 5 progressive specific policies and we can see where I stand. I'm serious.

To take my mention of stem cells, which apparently you do agree is a progressive idea; can you be a libertarian and still agree to this progressive idea? of course!

I don't see any logical way that a liberal let alone an extreme liberal could oppose a progressive tax. It makes available more funds to support government programs than would otherwise be feasible and it takes that money from the rich.

This statement is just wrong - there is no claim to one tax policy being able to raise more taxes than the other. You are falling into the trap yelled by every single republican - "see they want to raise your taxes". That last statement says you want to tax the rich to pay for programs you favor. Is that really what you meant to say?
