It's good to be back after a several day stint in the hospital for severe neck spasms....appears to be C5-6 and one other plus arthritis in the spinal column....Terribly painful....Have I learned some things re the Medical situation we are all going to find ourselves in now, and if not now, very soon....!

For tonight, I'll say percoset and moriphine, etc. are helping to control the spasms, but will also mention that it appears that if someone is on Medicaid rather than on Medicare and a paid MCSupplement, Medicaid pays the hospitals and the Doctors MORE than Medicare and the supplement does!!!

After working for most of my married life, plus now paying premiums for B and for Medicare Supplement J, and for Drug Coverage (not the Gov D type) it appears that the hospitals may prefer to have the beds empty (tax reasons????) than filled with Medicare patients.....

And if I am right, maybe this is why the Docs and medical services don't seem to be as angry about Medicaid patients....

I think anyone who knows more about the rules, and situations they have encountered themselves, or those close to them have, would be doing everyone of us a service..... Maybe there will be enough info to have a separate thread....but in the end, we will find it is definitely politics and the government intervention that have, and will continue to make our lives much more difficult!

A Doctor, who is a trustee of a very large hospital here in the NW, and who is also a CoFounder of the National Hospitalists Association, said to me that he blames the Insurance companies, it made me see red, green and all sorts of other colors..... He of course, was referring to Medicare, which I reminded him, in case he didn't know, (HA!...he gives seminars all over the US) that it is the GOVERNMENT i.e. Congress, who has been writing the rules since LBJ for Medicare, and telling the Insurance Companies what they can and can't do...it appears now that ALL stays for whatever are being compared to Medicare requirements, and the prices are going through the ceiling....
