For all their negatives, I think a good HMO is the way to go. I have to stay on top of my care, but that is understandable. Nobody is going to look out for me but ME.

Kaiser here in the Islands just did about $1500 worth of CT scans, no cost to me, and cut my extra premium for next year from $122 to $115. They also arranged for medicare subscribers to have a free membership in the local "24 Hour Fitness." Normaly costs about $30 a month. I have one two blocks from me right on the ocean so I can look out the open 2nd story front while working out and watch the beach babes. That ought to keep my heart pumping!
