>>the mini cooper had broken down or something<<

When my car needs work I drive it to the dealer myself and they give me a free loaner car with all the latest whizzbang features.

So how often do you actually drive yours? If left by itself too long in such a hot climate, the volatile fuel elements evaporate leaving a gummy residue in fuel line etc requiring expensive repair. Perhaps that was your problem?

BTW, I'm having a hearty chuckle over the stunning Madoff "Ponzi scheme" revelation. Just think of all the hoity-toity socialites who will now have to demineralize/decrystallize their jewelry, and submit their fancy wardrobes and handbags to consignment shops to pay basic living expenses! The USA has one-upped the great Hong Kong "accumulator" scandal with this one. What is Asia going to to to get back in the running? <ggg>
