I think the Unions will be FORCED to make major concessions, but it will probably have to come gradually.

It looks like Bush will provide the cash the automakers need to stay alive until Obama gets in and then the Democrats will make sure they continue to stay alive.

A a bailout of the Auto Industry in the short term will probably be a lot cheaper than supporting the "millions" of unemployed if they went under.

I agree that the Unions have pushed things too far, but it doesn't help that the guys at the Top have also overindulged themselves. The CEO of Toyota makes $1 million a year, but the CEO of Ford makes $21 million a year? There's somethin' wrong with that picture.
