Hotels are in deep yogurt. Per CR, lodging investment almost DOUBLED normal cyclical peaks. (!!!!!)

Obviously this will hit anyone who focuses on hotel construction severely, but I think most everyone in that industry appreciates "diversification". The hotel REITs are a different story.

Somebody ended up stuck with a ton of new hotels, mostly over the past two years. That means lots of overly optimistic assumptions about occupancy, balance sheet valuations, and ultimately bad debts to come.

Let's find 'em.
