There is mention by Globe and Mail that the next budget may contain help for the mining and forestry industries;

"After pledging more than $3-billion to rescue the auto sector, the Harper government is now poised to offer similar aid to the struggling mining and forestry industries in next month's budget."

I remember that back in the sixties (?), the mining industry enjoyed a three year "tax free holday" for start ups. I think that meant no depreciation nor depletion charges for the first three years. It was a great boon to B.C. mining starts. Something similar could really enhance Mt.M without requiring any government pay-out. Will we see it in the budget ?
