If there was not a period of two negative quarters of growth then under the rule of thumb there was no recession.....but your choices of recession or expansion are not the only choices either.....and you apparently did not the read definition of a "rule of thumb"....

Two consecutive quarters is not "the criteria" it's a criteria, a rule of thumb used by laymen like you. Economists don't use it, and the government doesn't use it. They use the NBER's dating methods.

Not only do you not know what "the criteria" is, you falsely claim that only a partisan hack doesn't use your layman's definition. That's obviously and laughably untrue. Even the White House doesn't use what you claim is "the criteria" they also accept the NBER's dating methods. According to your ridiculous claim, that makes them partisan hacks.

We both know you'll never own up to these falsehoods, you don't have it in you.

Unlike you, i say what i mean and i mean what i say. Let me show you how it's done:

There was a recession in 2001.
It ended a record 10 year expansion.
There was no 17 year expansion.
This recession began in December of 2007.

See, no cowardly weasel words, no JLA running and hiding, no obfuscation, pretending or denying, just straight declarative statements that i stand behind.
