"That said, why do i think they are entitled to the word? Because marriage is a basic civil right of man. You have disagreed with the Supreme Court and the law of the land in your declaration but I don't fault you for that because I think they missed their target on that note as well. To freely associate with who we will and how we choose is a basic right of man limited only by our right and responsibility to do no harm to others. "To grant it to straights while denying it to gays is discrimination. We have agreed that both have the right to association/union on their own terms and to do so without discrimination. It has already been demonstrated for you that gays are not discriminated against so I don't know why you are falling back on that failed declaration. Straights have the right to define their culture for themselves and for purposes of posterity as they like. Straights have married, and produced core families with a set of cultural values that builds community and a particular type of society. You have not recognized their right to define/classify themselves as different than other cultures founded upon carnal materialism. Until you do, they will see your attempts to define sameness as an attempt to make one culture and the other the same. They are not the same, 'the one that is fed' will survive, as they say...and this is the source of conflict. "The state either needs to get out of the marriage business" That would be ok with me. "... or stop discriminating against homosexuals." Homosexuals are not discriminated against. "This is another reason the anti side will lose. In the end, civil rights always win out... No civil rights are being violated. Smoke and mirrors don't manifest anything but illusion, which is always seen for what it is at the end of the show.
