The USD has dropped nearly 10% against the Euro in one week and close to 5% against the yen. Normally, the Fed bumps or cuts in the opposite direction of the USD. These aren't normal times, so it's hard saying what they'll do.

There's a lot of pressure for the half point cut, so you may be right, but as a lot of folks have pointed out, there aren't many bullets left in the gun.

This thing isn't going to get turned around by playing around with interest rates anyhow. People without jobs don't buy things and you can't forever loan money to people with no means to pay it back.

The usual recovery program is to start a war and kill everyone who doesn't have a job.
