What you say is correct in NORMAL times, but these aren't normal times.

ALL our banks are essentially bankrupt right now, so should we just let them declare bankruptcy?

These aren't just "isolated" problems with no real repercussions for the whole economy. Some people think that they are immune from this, but if they depend on U.S. dollars they are not.
