I agree and that's why I always stress diversification as the key to making money. The people who put all their money in with Madoff because the returns were "guaranteed" and consistent really fell for the oldest of red flags.

I have yet to see anyone be right in making calls more than about 70% of the time and you can always tell a scammer when he or she claims to be right all the time.

If you can diversify and make multi-baggers, stay away from the crowd, buy when others sell and sell when others are buying, you have a chance to make money even in the microcap market.

I was thinking that pennies and sub-pennies would lose interst but then it seems that during very hard times, lottery tickets, casinos and the like do pretty well. So who knows?

In any event, those who put other than gambling money into any part of the stock market without totally diversifying are just asking for trouble.

My biggest holding for years has been XOM even though I disagree with the politics of big oil. Even there though, I've written calls and played it for the dividend. The big increase in price was really a pleasant surprise.
