The good news of that is that it limits Obama's ability to move rapidly to the socialized society he advocates.

Maybe not.

Both real, and just perceived crisis often spur government officials to take dramatic steps (even if they are not wise ones), and to go more in to debt (even if the debt levels are heavy already).

Just look at all the calls for more bailouts and intervention going around even after all the money already doled out or allocated.

Or look at all FDR's experiments with the economy.
