Well, I learned a LOT today, thanks to my friend the piglet, and I am going to share it with all of you.
Here's the story: BLB (gronieel) said something to the effect that David Korn stopped posting on his own board because he didn't want to respond to requests to report his returns.
Piglet said that was not true, and provided links to Korn's websites, saying that korn would answer questions there.
Well, one of them was the fixed income site, in which I have no interest. The other is his regular newsletter site, begininvesting.com. I clicked on that link, thinking I might find a message board where I could ask korn some questions (since he has stopped posting on his SI board).
Lo and behold, I got a message saying his site was available "by invitation only." I guess he learned that trick from kirk--a good way to keep out the rabble rousers or anyone else who might want some information.
I told the piglet that reputable sites like Motley Fool did not operate that way, and I hinted that no one in his right mind would prefer korn's newsletter to Motley Fools'.
Well, then I thought I better find out if I was right. For all I knew, MF had the same "invitation-only" crap as Korn.
However, that proved most definitely NOT TRUE!! Not only did I get into the site without an invitation, I was able to click on links, get their stock picks, and even read about the reasons they liked the stocks without even registering!!!!
What a contrast!!
Is there ANYONE out there who would prefer to subscribe to Korn (or kirk, for that matter) to Motley Fool?
And, for the bashers, I'm not saying Brinker is any better than korn or kirk. I'm saying korn and kirk are pretty much the same as Brinker. Can you imagine kirk giving away stock picks, as Motley Fools do?
If you want integrity, you have to look to people like Motley Fool (That is not to say they are better than korn or kirk--I don't know if they are or not). |
