Very good news today!

I had lunch with my oldest son today...........a date we've been trying to fill for weeks........and just about the time we were finishing up and getting ready to pay the bill, he asked me if I'd help him pick out an engagement ring for his girlfriend.

Of course I was honored.

We went to The Shane Company and spent almost 3 hrs there picking out a setting and then the stone. I had lots of advice for him, and the poor salesman actually turned the sale over to another sales person because I was interjecting too much information, I guess? gg

Anyway........this sweet older gal came over and clinched it for him. It was between this beautiful .90 ct brilliant cut diamond and a .72 carat Princess cut diamond. He ended up choosing the Princess cut because it was an F (that's very rare) and was just a very clear (we looked at all of them through a loop) and a lovely diamond. The setting is white gold, kind of thick and contemporary, and has 2 little diamonds on each side of the prongs.

Really lovely ring for a young bride.

I think he'd going to pop the question on New Years Eve.

;)
