Nature vs Nurture has long been debated as a cause, consequence, or attribution of human conduct. The fact is both play a part in the character of each human being. You are born with a set of given's. If your family history is a small and frail set of people who grew up with normal benefits associated with good nutrition, exercise, etc ... then you are not likely to win the Mr Atlas contest as an adult. However, you can certainly take on a fitness program and improve on what you were born with.

You don't choose a family history and hormones are not chosen unless it is a pharmaceutical decision. Choice, however, is always a factor determining the direction a person takes in life and how that personality is to develop. It is not all one or the other. We don't dismiss the lascivious behavior of a philandering heterosexual male with a hormonal orientation toward herd conduct. We criticise such behavior as choice behavior that is unacceptable and often provide serious consequences for such conduct. We shouldn't dismiss irresponsible behavior in the homosexual community so lightly either. But it is politically incorrect to criticize the gay community in any way or fashion, so we don't.
