I think sexual orientation is a mix of things, perhaps hormonal (including in the womb - supposedly its more common among later born male children and least common among first born males*) as well as learned behavior**.

*You'd think in past generations when large families were common - 8, 10, 12 and more kids per family - there might h/b more homosexuality than now when families are smaller. Have no idea of how anyone would know though. If so, it could be a natural way of tempering very fast population growth.

**I think adolescent males can be influenced by early sexual experiences or exposures. Probably a reason all boys boarding schools may not be a good idea for adolescents.

You don't choose a family history and hormones are not chosen unless it is a pharmaceutical decision. Choice, however, is always a factor determining the direction a person takes in life and how that personality is to develop. It is not all one or the other. We don't dismiss the lascivious behavior of a philandering heterosexual male with a hormonal orientation toward herd conduct. We criticise such behavior as choice behavior that is unacceptable and often provide serious consequences for such conduct. We shouldn't dismiss irresponsible behavior in the homosexual community so lightly either. But it is politically incorrect to criticize the gay community in any way or fashion, so we don't.

Definitely agree.
