I can vouch for the Avalon. I've had a '97 for 4 years and it's been trouble free other than some noise from the front struts which is apparently generic to some model years. It's Toyota's largest sedan and their flagship car, essentially Lexus quality at a discount. Reliabilty is the main factor for me and from from doing a lot of research before buying the 3 most bullitproof large sedans were the Camry, Maxima and Avalon. Mine has 185K miles now and the V6 should go a 100K more without trouble. Very smooth and comfortable ride with nice acceleration for a large car.
