<<Some, such as this Octavian creep, make things up about Brinker and his critics for some odd reason. The idea that Hulbert only tracks the "best" market timers is nonsense. Hulbert tracks newsletter writers with a large following so he can sell his service to those who buy newsletters. The best market timer I know is "Ground Zero" who posts here on SI and on facebook but he is not followed by Hulbert. Several others are also not followed by Hulbert. this list includes Don Wolanchuck who won Timer Digest's timer of the year award so many times that publication decided to change how they rate timers so they could drop him from the list of those they follow! I'd love to know what Don did to piss them off besides winning too often... unless if the same person wins too often then you don't have news to sell.....>>

--Does "Ground Zero" have a newsletter? Does Wolanchuck have a newsletter?

If Wolanchuck does, it is rather strange that Hulbert doesn't track him, since he must have a large following with such a good record. Some things aren't adding up very well here.

<<I believe Hulbert gives Brinker the benefit of the doubt, such as with QQQ, so he can rate him high and then sell his newsletter to Brinker's subscribers after Brinker brags about a high Hulbert rating.... Mark got upset when I suggested this to him which tells me he doesn't agree... 8)>>

--Mr. Hulbert does not give Brinker "the benefit of the doubt."
He puts an asterisk after his record to denote the failed QQQ trade.

If you would try to be objective for once, you would understand that Hulbert can't just unilaterally insert the QQQ trade into Bob's portfolios without opening a whole can of worms. So he did the next best thing.
