I've got news. We (most of us) don't want conservative government. If bush had governed from the center, he would have been respected. He did govern from the extreme, and he was hated just like you (conservatives) hated Clinton.
I'm sorry, but you come across as totally confused.
1. Most people want a CENTRIST government, not a liberal one, and not a conservative one. I'm including myself in "most people". I sure as hell don't want an extreme government on either end (although, if forced to an extreme, conservative extremes do less damage than liberal ones).
2. Bush has been, if anything, centrist. Nobody in his or her right mind would suggest otherwise. In fact, he has practically been a liberal on some issues, massive government spending being one of them. You're talking about a man who supported a Teddy Kennedy education bill.
3. I never hated Clinton for his politics. While he made some terrible foreign policy blunders that will continue to harm this country for decades to come, they were honest mistakes. I hated Clinton solely for his lack of integrity and personal character, and because I believe that he committed crimes he was never called to account for due to his abuse of power. At the same time, today, I can look past his screwed up presidency and believe that he is a better man today than he was then. You can't do that with Bush and never will because liberals' hearts are filled with hatred. |
