Not this time...nor will we ever know how things in Iraq would have evolved had we NOT intervened.

Of course we know. Saddam's successor was already known, and things were only going to get worse. We knew that. Anyone who has studied the subject knows with some precision where Iraq was headed without our intervention. What? Do you think Saddam was just going to say, "Oh, nevermind about those wars and instability I've brought to this region. I've changed."? Was he going to stop fomenting terror? Was he going to give up his quest for MORE WMD (after all, he had had them, had used them, and clearly had plans to do so again)? Was he going to cease being a threat to his neighbors? Was he going to stop killing Iraqis? Was he going to come into compliance, after 10 years, with the ceasefire agreement that allowed him to stay in power?

Look at Vietnam today.

Look at Cambodia after we left.
