Orderly BK of Wall street might have been a consideration too?

It's really a question of money, isn't it? Wall Street bought off politicians of all stripes, left and right, whereas Detroit only owns some liberal Democrats. That was Detroit's big mistake. Had they spread their lobbying money around more widely they would have had an easier time joining the other pigs at the taxpayer feeder.

As a side note, I imagine the Wall Street CEO's also flew to their hearings in plush corporate jets. But no one seemed to care at the time.
