The B.C. mining industry is seeking better access to credit and a more serious attempt to address community, First Nations and permitting issues, to help jump-start projects.
Just three new mines, and their impact on the economy, could make the difference between the province going into a recession, Mining Association of B.C. spokesman Byng Giraud said Tuesday.
"If there are 30 projects in this province, there's got to be a handful that could go ahead even in the downturn -- that would be good credit risks even in the current situation," said Giraud.
