Thanks...It's a funny thing about money. After I finished that course, I started making money in my own business. Before, I paid everyone else before I paid myself. Then I started to pay myself at least something first.... It is really interesting how that works! We did some funny things like making treasure maps, (yes, even the business men did who were there)....If we don't know we have a dream, or want, etc...if we don't have a map to get there, how do we? It was a very visual thing...
I also used to have only one savings account, and beat myself up everytime I took money out....I learned to have one saving account (or more) BUT to keep a journal sub dividing everything I was saving for.... For example, put in $100. The bookeeping spread sheet might show 10-12 columns, for things like....new car...new coat....gifts...vacation spending money, new great purse and shoes, and of course, one column for just plain saving etc etc etc... Then each week or pay period, continue adding $100 (or pick a number) and divide it into the columns as you want.
That way, there is always money in the account, and it shows one how much more one has to save to be able to get whatever.... Again, very visual! |
