The republicans in the senate look pretty stupid now...they've managed to lose control of the situation, since this loan is not legislated at all and the new administration can modify it without their approval.

Actually, they did what they needed to do, which was to protect the people's money from the UAW. If Bush blew it, they can't do anything about it.

I would not give them a red cent until UAW was on its knees begging for mercy. This is Bush kicking it down the road.
