Governor Palin, if she becomes the face of the Republican Party, will only further establish that it has become a regionalized, minority party which cannot win a national election...period. And may have a problem with forming an identity that most Americans can accept and vote for. Carrying the South and Alaska won't accomplish much, but that is all Governor Palin could ever accomplish.

Newt gets that. Powell gets that. Ed Rollins gets that. McCain gets that. They are the ones who are scared about Palin and the forces she represents. The Democrats would love her to be the face of the party. Republicans would be capped at 45% national vote tally if she were the candidate. Tops.

Fiscal conservatives with libertarian leanings won't have a home..(not that the republican party has been much of a home for them in recent years), but they will be the ones to stay away from the polls in droves...or create a third party.

Ron Paul was right, you know, on a lot of things.
