I think you lack imagination. I can think of several scenarios which history may judge Bush to be right. I am not predicting that any of those scenarios will work out and it is my belief that history will condemn him and the other Pols who are running the country for their handling of the economy rather than the war.

Scenario 1: Which I call the happy scenario. Iraq becomes a strong healthy democracy which in turn helps calm the ME and defeat terrorism.

Scenario 2: Not so happy. The US goes touchy feely which results in loss of influence in ME and more attacks here at home.

There are others but these are two possibilities (not probablities) that could vindicate Bush.

Unfortunately we don't get do overs. We can't rewind and say now what would happen if we followed the stategies of Bush's opponents. The only thing we can observe is what was done and how that worked out. We can never know what would have happened had we opted for different choices.
