Maybe, but Deutsche banks liabilities amount to 80% of Germany's GDP.

That's why I mentioned that the Confederate nature of Europe's governments and/or banking systmes, may make it more difficult to respond in a manner like the Federal Reserve. Even though the majority of mortgage excesses occurred in only 6 states, the other 44 are being required to pony up to help resolve it.

The question is will the Germans want to bail out the Spanish and Italians? I think that might create some problems with their taxpayers.

But needless to say, it will be interesting to see how this unfolds.
