Don't you find it the least bit curious that you are constantly complaining about the fiscal and quality of government services issues in CA and it's probably one of the biggest labs for liberal economic and social ideology in the nation?

Please spare me a long conversion. I know that current republicans are also a terrible basket case. But quite frankly there is no lab in any state where libertarian ideology can be tested because the Federal Government (via the left) mandated so much from the top. The left has won so many battles in recent decades, there is no place on earth someone like me can go to by voting with his feet and then be reasonably happy.

The entire world was taken down the toilet by unsound money, an unsound banking system, unsound social programs, rampant spending, promises made by government that can't be filled, promises made by corporations burdened with strong unions and government mandates that can't be filled, unsound Keynsian economics etc... and it all originally came from the left even if some people officially calling themselves republicans governed from the left or center left on these issues.

And while we were being taken down that rat hole by the left, many of the smartest people on the right said "screw it" and decided to use that system to get even richer and accelerate the process. It's terrible, but can you really blame someone for participating in a crooked game when it's the only game in town and that game would destroy you too if you didn't play.
