What a sad state of affairs, coug. The word "sad" doesn't serve.
Abandoning companion animals to fend for themselves, whether they're cats, dogs, or horses, it's cruelty.

For years I've watched as American society went crazy breeding designer dogs (and cats to a lesser extent), then anthropomorphizing them and showering them with ridiculous things like spa services. It's chilling to read this and think how quickly the tables turn.
