It just breaks my heart too.. I started to hear about this last summer and wondered what winter would bring with the price of hay and stuff, although most of these horses are fed year around because they live in small enclosures.. I imagine just hay would cost 40-50 bucks per month and then there are feed supplements, vet costs, shoeing etc on top of that..

So I guess some people just see the savings no matter how cruel it is...:( .. But we were just talking this morning why they don't try to find homes for them. . Maybe they did, I don't know.. A lot of people would take in a free horse in our neighborhood, at least I think they would...

We are not setup for it here. I wish we were..
