Oh, I see. So engagement to you means we have our military either off their coasts or on their homeland. If we aren't militarily meddling in their affairs, then somehow we are being isolationist?

That is the most toxic thing I've every heard. Engagement to me, means trade and diplomacy, not military. Isolationism to me means pulling back from diplomacy and trade. From that perspective, then Bush has been the most isolationist President in recent memory.
