The overall market was down, so it is difficult to try to make a correlation. I am happy to see SUNW go offensive(with respect to the workstation business) with IBM and HP. It gives me confidence in Sun's products and services. It also illustrates the competitive nature of the business. What is even more interesting to me is that the most recent #s (home sales, consumer spending and factory orders) do not confirm a slowing economy, then why did HP's most recent #s show a slow down involving most products and across all regions including the USA. The question really becomes is HP doing something wrong and SUNW doing something right? I hope the answer is yes. This quarter EPS will shed some light on the question.
