a) So any wartime president should visit every family of a dead soldier in person?

b) The VA debacle is really bad. I'm not sure if the Bush administration has already taken steps to fix that. If they haven't, well, there's a new guy coming into town in less than a month.

Tench, I don't care if they visited a single soldier during time of just and righteous war. For me the deal was broken when they took us to a war I considered unjust and unnecessary from day one. It was pretty obvious that they wanted to fight this war...the country was not in any danger...the future not at risk...there was no urgency, WMDs, no mushroom clouds, no yellow cake, no nuclear weapons cheney assured us they had, no AQ connection...none of the things they sold us as truth. The rest is self serving bullshit leaked to a partisan newspaper in the waning days of an administration widely considered among the worst in american history.
