OT: Our Corp. HQ just put the Humbug into Christmas... OK, I didn't complain or whine when Corp. HQ insisted on our division following British accounting practices (our HQ is British) for the first time ever, which bottom line resulted in our divisional profit-sharing bonuses (the biggie) being cut in half when they handed out the checks last week -- because it still had a lot of zeroes on it, but half of last year's profit-sharing bonus despite a record year...

So today, our illustrious leader in Britain sends out an e-mail to everyone saying that despite record revenues and profits for the Corp. as a whole (due in large part to our division making up for some losers -- we generate the most profit in percentage and in gross dollars despite being one of the smallest divisions in the corp.) they have decided -- for the first time ever -- to NOT pay any corporate profit sharing bonuses this year... and offering lame excuses for this decision... the corporation is employee owned and I thought British law stipulates that all profits be returned to employees on pro-rated basis annually, but apparently the same stupid rules that led to halving our divisional bonuses also includes some clause that they can cancel profit sharing if it is in "the staff's best interests." Hmmmmmmm.... no details on how not paying profit-sharing in a record year is in our best interest.

And to send this news out today as an e-mail when 75% of our division is out on vacation? I guess they were afraid we might stage a revolution and declare independence from our British overlords.

I'm going to beat the Christmas rush and start hating everyone at Corp. HQ now...

Cripes, I'm in a mean mood all of a sudden... I think my productivity is going to suffer today and tomorrow.
