those ice cores show it's just a cycle. And now we are in a cooling cycle, so keep the politics and the REDS out of it.
Yes, the ice cores show a natural cycle, and we are currently at the top of one, and should be slowly starting lower. Further, the ice cores show that CO2 increases lag temperature increases. The data we have now show that despite being at what should be a bit past the temp and CO2 peaks, our CO2 is shooting up again, way out of past natural ranges, and temp is now following with a time lag. That in a nutshell is why we call this AGW.
For your reference, the following chart shows the ice core temp, CO2 and dust reconstructions. Please note that they all look like nice cycles. One little problem, as I've added in yellow: The current CO2 level at 380 no longer seems to fit in the picture as "just another cycle" now does it? Gee, why would that be? The claim of scientists is that in another 100 years, the temp anomaly will stick out equally shockingly. The fact that this temp anomaly lags the CO2 anomaly is why it is AGW, not natural global warming, plus we know why the CO2 is having an anomaly. Note that 380ppm is actually off the graph at about the top of the yellow line.
