Hardly, jerkoff. This approach is very effective while helping to protect the integrity of Puget Sound.

Liberalism Run Amok

We don't want no saltwater in Puget Sound!

The streets of Seattle are "snow-packed," and that's just how city officials want it, according to the Times.

The paper says crews aren't using salt to clear the city's roads because of concerns that would hurt the Puget Sound. Instead, an official says they're "trying to create a hard-packed surface" that drivers with snow chains or four-wheel-drive vehicles can navigate.

"By ruling out salt and some of the chemicals routinely used by snowbound cities, Seattle has embraced a less-effective strategy for clearing roads, namely sand sprinkled on top of snowpack along major arterials, and a chemical de-icer that is effective when temperatures are below 32 degrees," the paper says.
