That's terrific, Scoobah! At a pound a week, I am 33 weeks from my new goal of 190 instead of 195. I think I will need to get to that weight to get my waist down to 40 inches. That will be a 24.5 BMI. At age 74, it wouldn't hurt to get to a 20 BMI. Which would be 158. But I will never go that low. I got down to 180 back in 96. But did it on the Phen-Phen, and went right back up, of course. My highest weight was a 256 last year, or an obese 32 BMI. At 223 pounds I am feeling a lot better already.

I started my Kaiser HMO membership at 24 Hours Fitness yesterday. It's two blocks from my place. I intend to walk over morning and evening and do some stretching on their "stretch balcony." It has a foam pad for stretching on, a "stretch cage," with a very clear set of pictures of how to stretch on it, and a "stretch bench" set up with good directions. In spite of my dancing, I have "hamstrings of steel" instead of rubber. I suspect that is the main reason for my low back pain. The setup makes it real easy to run though a systematic program of stretching.

We will see what stretching does for me over a couple of weeks.
