A couple of things Bob did not mention. Part of that $2,539,000 increase in sales to physicians offices was a $1,000,000 win of strep
sales away from traditional clinics, this as result of the CDC waiver
status on the test allowing it to be performed in the physicians office. I think it was stated that this was an annuity. It was sure a
capture of market share. H-pylori test kit sales were up "75%", I am
not sure what the base period was.
In Europe unit sales were up 20%, but because of the strong dollar
only resulted in a 6% revenue increase.
Sales are off in South East Asia, mentioned Thailand. Apparantly
because of the ongoing economic stress occurring in that region.
Lost something in Japan, did not quite hear it, but I thought it was
a distributer. Quidel is working to get going in Japan again, but because of the procedures that Japan uses, Quidel is probably 6 months
from access. I was not entirely clear what had happened in Japan.
