Hi Creede - you know what they say about discussing politics LOL, no good comes of it.

I've pretty much voted "for the person" as opposed to party, and my track record is not good. I'm not infallible as I've posted this morning LOL.

I voted Gore because I felt Clinton was unfairly attacked and he did a good job both internationally and economically. I voted Bush over Kerry as the latter did little more than attack rather than present substance (kind of like I feel about MGB posters LOL). I felt Bush had held us together after 9/11 and I generally supported his aggressive moves.

So, I like Bush, but I am just plain disgusted, as I suspect most Americans are, that he just seems to go through the motions and his team has been incompetent if you look at the bottom line in just about every area of performance.

We have not been attacked again, but that may be just luck. If you read the Congressional bi-partisan report, you see how much more we have to do, and we have wasted so much money in Iraq.

I was in favor of the Iraq invasion, but there was just no plan and it has been a disaster post the first few weeks. So now I think overall, it has been a mistake, particularly because of the lack of planning for an effective exit strategy.

So, I think I'm pretty objective overall and represent a kind of silent majority. I admittedly was not enthusiastic about Obama given lack of experience and just plain being a bit afraid of "difference." As I sat and talked to myself, LOL, I listened to his words, read about his background, and then compared his campaign to the others. The others were much more attack oriented. He presented actual plans and the hope for inclusion, not exclusion, which I believe may be the most important thing going forward. That is, we need to become one country again, not just voting for (or conversely hating) someone because of just one issue or set of issues. I also felt the choice of Palin was pandering and, although I respect McCain perhaps more than any other US politician, I felt this critical decision represented something that showed a lapse in judgment.

That's it for politics. We're all Americans and have to unite and wish our new President well.
