Salt runoff from deicing the streets would not affect the salinity in the Sound in the slightest. There simply isn't enough involved.

That's not the only issue re. the use of salt but I know you're really not interested in hearing the details. Suffice to say that Seattle's approach to clearing snow off its streets has worked fine until this year. The combo of record snowfalls coupled with record cold temps has kept the snow from melting. Fortunately, the weather is expected to change this weekend and the snow should be mostly gone by Sunday.

As for your comments, the Seattle metro area has one of the most pristine environments of any metro area of its size. That quality doesn't happen by chance. In fact, it requires extra effort to maintain such quality. I'll take Seattle over Walmart any old day.
