Wonder if Intel will ever come up with a bright idea for an analog micro processor -- one which doesn't need a clock -- but which also doesn't need two discrete levels --but one which uses a continous range of levels. For example, today, a single unclocked analog multiplier can multiply two 4 bit precision numbers and create an 8 bit precision result in the same power/silicon area as a two input nand gate. A similar analog circuit, slightly reconfigured can add or substract two 8 bit numbers in similar
power/silicion area.

I guess I'm just pointing out that Intel has a long way to go before they run out of potential improvements to make for their X86 technology.
