The city guy they talked to said they go through 100 tons of salt when there is a heavy snow fall. Now, what they deem as 'heavy' is likely to be more than they would in Seattle.

100 tons, 200,000 lbs. of salt -- a fraction of a single railcar load, once or twice a year, even if 100% made it into the Sound.

We're talking about a RAILCAR of salt being dumped into the entire Sound. And you, scientific genius, think that is going to somehow upset the ecosystem?

The argument is beyond silly. A railcar of salt in the Sound is literally unnoticeable.
